
Taylor’s Checkerspot Butterfly have shown the ability to lay eggs and forage on several types of thicker stemmed wildflowers. Paintbrush, and Blue eyed Mary have shown success to lay eggs and for caterpillars to forage. Lance leaf coreopsis attracts all types of pollinators and is well suited for prairies. These three wildflowers will make a successful butterfly habitat.
Checkerspots are able to eat a wider variety of plants where as the Monarch Butterflies need milkweed, so In our monarch seed mix, we have 4 types of milkweed for them to lay eggs a caterpillars to forage.
