This Living Archive

Serves as a retrospective of my artistic journey and a promise for the future. This collection features 15 distinct pieces of hand-cast seed paper, curated from a mixture of my past projects.

The composition creates a visual map of North American biodiversity. From the painted honeycomb bee representing the West to the pink monarchs representing pollinator pathways, each color and shape holds a specific genetic library of seeds.

Planting Instructions

Because this artwork contains a diverse range of North American seeds, it thrives best in a spot that receives full to partial sun.

  1. Prepare: Loosen the soil in a garden bed or a large pot.

  2. Place: Lay your chosen art pieces on the soil. You can plant the whole collection to create a meadow, or scatter them to spread the color.

  3. Cover: Sprinkle a light layer of soil (1/8 inch) over the paper.

  4. Hydrate: Water thoroughly immediately. Keep the paper consistently moist until sprouts appear (usually 1-2 weeks).

  5. Grow: Watch as your art transforms into a living habitat for bees and butterflies.
